ThisONRRI applies small science to building community through the development of youth. The mind-numbing dog and pony approach to edjutainment is incapable of producing mass reasoned people. Research directed learning environments provide hands-on opportunity to put thought back into the learning process - survival skills are quite motivational. Small science requires involvement, involvement creates interest, interest begets query, questions generate hypotheses (which are usually wrong!) and what happens happens, is observed and dutifully recorded with no intentional bias.
