Pumpkin Pie in the Sky

I find that i look forward to Monday mornings because it rolls out another Jim Kunstler article. The commentaries after the article suggest that i am not the only one who surfs to Jim's page. The idea of localized economy fits the shoe perfectly - but most people are too busy standing around waiting for something to happen. Right now, it is mostly talk - but if we cannot agree to talk - what hope do we really have of working together in community.

Too many people just want to roll up their sleeves and do - even though they don't have a clue as to what is coming, or what to do. The time now can be spent reflecting on the possibilities, because when the roller coaster ride of economic degradation really hits the fan - it ain't gonna be pretty. So working on the microcosm of self right now may be the last time we actually have the time to choose our orientation into the future.

What worked in the past no longer works and what didn't work, quite likely still wont work. The parameters are changing, so i will focus on local re-education through non-traditional sources. The grubbermint is not to be trusted at all, for any service provided. Well - i'll allow the post office deliver my bills when i pay them. Otherwise - its a do-it-ourselves construct. Today's plan is to render pumpkins into pie-filling and toasted pumpkin seed.
See you all at the grange at 1:00.
