Fun with Smokey

Dinner was more eventful than usual last night.  B. had just put his steak plate down for the dog when he looks up at the door and sees a giant face watching him.  The bear’s head took up most of the pane of glass – just curious over who was living and cooking in the abandoned home.
We had been warned that there was a big bear about – he had beaten up a refrigerator that stood outside.  This one startled B., who shooed it away and then went and fired a pistol shot to accelerate its departure.  It returned later in the evening, so Nonie, our appetizer dog, got to bark at it for a bit.  We shall keep loaded guns nearby; only for personal safety – the bear has every right to be.
Evaluated the lab boxes and set them around the periphery of the living room such that J.2 the neighbor can access her stuff.  Mostly consists of frilly and girly things in showy cabinets.  By the end of the weekend, we should have all our indoors laid out and be working more diligently on the outdoors.
Planted the first of the garlic – dug an area aside where the irises are growing, but on the lawn side.  Received permission to turn the lawn into a garden, a slow task but easily accomplishable over time.  Added some of the micronutrient mix* to some compost and gave the garlic an oomph – have more to plant that will not be enhanced such that I can see the difference, I also planted a few cloves from the store bought garlic that had started to send out shoots.
Also have to remember to do constant tick checks this time of year.  I can feel them being crawly – the pets tend to bring them in.  Ticks are a seasonal occurrence, but this is the season.  Death by fire or dismemberment is the result finding the tick – the universe can have the same arrangement for me as we have for mosquitoes – if they don’t land on me, then they can stay alive.  This extends to my immediate G7 family – we will not be hunting them, only finding them.
Nature is as nature does.  We are here to understand and comprehend – to make better decisions concerning the ‘life’ that we all share on this planet, the soul known as Gaia.  The physical changes are a phase of celestial timing – ‘everything has a reason and everything has a goal.’ ‘I wanna be where my spirit can be free – wanna find my corner of the sky.’ From the musical, Pippin. Ah, simple joys.
